Dooley Tractor Company is a Ford tractor dealership located in downtown Athens at the “Five Points” across from First Baptist Church. E. B. Bohannon, Jr.- known to family and friends as simply “Bo” – purchases the business from the Dooley family.

Facilities at Dooley Tractor Company are crowded! Bo moves the business to its current location on Congress Parkway. The new, larger facility also provides the opportunity for him to add the New Holland line of tractors and hay equipment.

Bo’s son, E. B. Bohannon III or Eddie for short, returns to Athens to work in the family business. Eddie’s first task within the company is Sales & Marketing.

Dooley Tractor continues to expand by purchasing adjacent properties south of it. The business employs 15 people.

Eddie becomes President & CEO of Dooley Tractor Company. Bo continues to be an active presence in the business and the community.

Dooley Tractor Company becomes an authorized Kubota Tractor dealership, offering primarily compact tractors.

As a new century approaches, Eddie and Bo see the need for improved and expanded space to continue to serve the Tennessee valley. There is room to enlarge the main building due to the purchase adjacent lots over the last several years. A major renovation is undertaken, which expands the building to its current footprint.

Dooley Tractor Company becomes an authorized Hustler Turf dealer and builds an additional shop to meet customer needs.

Bo never formally retires, but passes away in 2011. Eddie continues to serve as President & CEO.

As McMinn County and the surrounding areas becomes more populated, the demand for light construction equipment grows. Dooley Tractor Company sees this as an area of growth and begins offering both Kubota and New Holland skid steers, compact track loaders, excavators, and attachments.

Kubota recognizes Dooley Tractor Company as an Elite Dealer. Business continues to grow and more storage space is needed. A new warehouse is constructed, which also serves as gathering space for the annual Open House event.

Dooley Tractor celebrates 65 years in business! Eddie embraces efficiencies available through high density parts storage and remodels the parts department. This allows the expansion of the showroom and sales offices to their current look. The continued growth supports jobs for 30+ employees.
